Offering up panoramic views of the Manchester skyline, Climat, a wine-led restaurant atop Blackfriars House, opened its doors back in November 2022.

Since then, it's been winning over diners with its Parisian-style interiors, sprawling rooftop terrace and casual but elevated dishes.
The Observer's resident food critic, Jay Rayner, raved about the place during a visit last year, falling head over heels for its hash brown topped with 'whorls’ of taramasalata’ and a vol-au-vent filled with lamb keema.
He added that it was 'hard not to fall in adult love' with the menu.
This past September it was also nominated in the best restaurant category in the Manchester Food & Drink Awards. So, it's no surprise that another national critic has made the ascent, even if finding to 'base camp' - reception - is 'like trying to find a camel in a sandstorm'.
