Dr sarah jarvis biography

Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE trained at Cambridge and Oxford Universities before becoming a GP partner in an inner-city practice in London but is probably best known as BBC One Show's very own GP.

Sarah continues to act as a GP locum at her old practice, keeping in touch with the front line, and of course her patients of many years’ standing.

She was awarded an MBE in the 2018 New Year’s honours list for services to general practice and public understanding of health. 

In 2021, she was appointed visiting Professor of General Practice at the University of Huddersfield.

Sarah is very recognisable from her many media appearances on TV, Radio and in the Press, although her entry into the media world was entirely by accident, stemming from just one interview through her work with the Royal College of GPs - and the phone hasn’t stopped ringing since!
