Michael Bennett Jr. was born on November 13, 1985 in Avondale, Louisiana. He has a younger brother Martellus Bennett, who is a football player too, and is a team member of the New England Patriots.

He studied at the Alief Taylor High School in Houston, Texas. At that time he started to play football and baseball. He continued to play football when he enrolled in the Texas A&M University and joined the Texas A&M team.
